The Fringe is a gaming community with its roots in the player-vs-player game of Shadowbane. Starting in 2003, the guild has moved through several servers, first starting in the world of Deception, and then moving through several servers. In each server, we had a simple goal: Find a place for our members to enjoy ourselves in this world, and a good place for us to find a niche. The guild's members are of a good quality and have persevered through good and bad times. That is the true nature of a fighting man or woman.
As a guild, we have few rules, if any - most of us tend to know these without even stating them. But here are the originally guild guildelines as laid out by Kronnus and Therish, the original guild leaders of The Fringe. These guidelines are still in the spirit of the Fringe:
Rules of Membership
- A member's honor not only defines himself or herself but The Fringe as a whole. An individual's actions are considered the actions of the guild.
- Members are expected to act in a mature manner, both in their actions and in their words. Overly abusive, disrespectful, or offensive play is not accepted within the guild.
- Members must attempt to resolve issues with other members on their own. Council members are brought in for resolution only as a last resort.
- A member should resolve personal issues with other guilds that are in good standing with The Fringe.
- If a player leaves the guild on his or her own accord, the player is required to go through the Initiation process to re-establish membership.
- All of a member's characters must be members of The Fringe, and each will be represented at the same level or rank within the guild.
- Donations from other members, be it via items, gold, or power-leveling, should never be expected.
- Personal arguments should never occur through guild chat or on public message boards.
Any new member should be aware of these rules, for these are the sort of bylaws that help to make the gaming experience worth it in the end.
